My Story Starter

Does this hook you in?

Late one night in a scientists lab, Dr. Smolders snatched the edge of his coat and ripped it off. He knew he should have listened to his driver and left his coat at home- it was as hot as dragons fire in here. Placing his lumpy, hand knitted coat on a slightly charred chair, victim to millions of experiments gone wrong, he turned back to his work- a glowing green chemical ooze labeled h7793. Then it happened...

This is the start of my story, "A Stroke of Brilliance".

The Time James Shot a Deer

This is my story about the time James shot a deer:

Hooked savagely onto a matted, fraying rope, the doe was dangling above a scarlet mark on the shed carpet, that could instantly be recognised as blood. A stained ice cream container lid had been carelessly place underneath the blood-soaked head, trying to catch the drips of glittering, gory insides, shining like a jeweler's shop. The flat lid was overflowing now, spilling like red wine onto the shed floor, staining it like cheese puffs on a gown as white as flour. The open eyes of the doe were as rich as the earth’s soil. It would make an exquisite dinner.

My story

This is the first bit of my story I am writing. It is called
Shoot Some Ducks:

“Wake up! Get out of bed!” My alarm clock screeched in my ear.
“No! I am not giving up my territory! I demand 10 more minutes!” I replied, as I slammed my hand
onto the ‘OFF’ button.

I hope you enjoyed this! ;P

Pig Facts

I have been making an information report about pigs. This is what I found out:
  • Pigs are intelligent animals.
  • Like humans, pigs are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and other animals.
  • A pig’s snout is an important tool for finding food in the ground and sensing the world around them.
  • Pigs have an excellent sense of smell.
  • There are around 2 billion pigs in the world.
  • Humans farm pigs for meat such as pork, bacon and ham.
  • Some people like to keep pigs as pets.
  • Wild pigs (boar) are often hunted in the wild.
  • In some areas of the world, wild boars are the main source of food for tigers.
  • Feral pigs that have been introduced into new areas can be a threat to the local ecosystem.
  • Pigs can pass on a variety of diseases to humans.
  • Relative to their body size, pigs have small lungs.

My Limerick Writing

Here is another of my favourite limericks:
(that I made up)
There once was a fat, bratty man
Who wanted to drive in a van
But he had a car
And didn’t get very far

But he did find a very old fan

Boring and Interesting sentences

I have been working on boring sentences by fixing them up with my own interesting words. Here's an example:

Boring:
I ate an orange. It was yum.

Interesting:
My teeth bit into a juicy, ripe orange. My taste buds exploded with flavour. It was the most scrumptious orange I had ever eaten.

I hope you like my work :)
